Burkett catches the spirits of the swamps and makes them alive!

I lived in Louisiana for over thirty years. I have met characters, similar to her story. I am reminded of the classic books I read as I studied in school, when I read her. Her voice sends shivers down your back and visions in your imagination. Burkett makes you believe her characters are real flesh and blood. Want a story to make you pull the covers over your head on a spooky Halloween night. Light a candle and read "Bad Moon Rising." You'll turn on all the lights and lock your doors before crawling into bed with your lover and holding them tight, hoping the shadows don't follow.
